Carmen Crompton

Carmen is ALM Translations’ longest-serving employee and Managing Director, responsible for commercial performance and operations across the business. Having joined ALM in 2007, her extensive operational and translation industry experience gives her a detailed understanding of both client requirements and how multilingual services are delivered.

Career 

I joined ALM in 2007 as a Project Manager and progressed through the business, becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2024 and Managing Director in 2026.

My career at ALM has given me experience across project delivery, client management, operational strategy and commercial performance.

Role

As Managing Director, I oversee ALM’s commercial and operational performance, working closely with our sales, tech team, account management and delivery teams.

My focus is on ensuring we deliver excellent service and quality while building strong client relationships, improving efficiency and supporting profitable, sustainable growth.

Achievements to date

I am particularly proud of progressing from Project Manager to Managing Director and of the role I have played in improving operational efficiency and profitability as ALM has grown and evolved. 

What your role brings to the business

I bring extensive operational knowledge together with a strong commercial understanding of our clients and their requirements.

My role is to connect commercial strategy with delivery, ensuring that what we promise clients can be delivered effectively while identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships, improve processes and grow accounts across several service areas.

What you enjoy outside of work

I enjoy travelling, spending time with friends and family and buying a nice pair of shoes!
