Translation services are a powerful marketing and communication tool which can work wonders for businesses, with just a bit of guidance.
ALM offers 3 different service levels: Read it, Use it and Create it
Here’s a guide that should help you decide which service best suits your needs.
- Read it service level
For communicating information such as meeting minutes, memos, internal documents and business critical documents.
What you’ll get:
Accurate translations and information for the end user.
Read it translations are carried out by professional translators and include an integral proofread.
QA checks include a spot check by a second linguist and an automated translation-specific QA check that checks for spelling errors, missing text, incorrect numbers, names etc.
What isn’t included:
A full and comprehensive secondary review and revision by a second, independent linguistic expert.
Final checks prior to distribution to your intended user, e.g. after typesetting or website launch.
- Use it service level
For business critical translations such as marketing collateral, websites, legal documents, documents for publications, user manuals and guides to accompany products for export.
What you’ll get:
Use it is the recommended service if you’re looking for accurate translations that have been fully checked and revised by two separate quality translators to ensure that translations read well and that the style is appropriate and a high quality translation is delivered.
The translation will be more polished than a Read it translation but be assured, we do NOT use cheaper translators or just anyone for our Read it service.
You may have your own linguist on hand to carry out a review, but if not, we highly recommend that you choose this service. Any source marketing content doesn’t simply fall from head to paper and it’s the same with translations.
What isn’t included:
Copy editing. This is a separate step recommended for certain marketing materials and web pages. If you’re looking for this, we recommend our Create it service
- Create it service level
For higher-level documents, our Create it service may be more appropriate. Content created in other languages needs to have the same consideration as it does when being crafted in your native language.
This service is carried out by a native target-language copywriter after translation (or alternatively, we can create content from scratch). We also need a specific brief outlining your target market, intended audience demographic, tone of voice and any other considerations you would like our linguists to be aware of.
If you are still unsure of the right service level for you, ALM can provide a quote for all three services, and our team will be on hand to advise the best options for your needs and budget.
