ISAE 3000

ISAE 3000 certification means that companies processing large volumes of confidential information can be assured that ALM Translations has the capability to handle their highly sensitive data.

The standard and the framework for this ISAE 3000 accreditation are understandably strict, so in this article, we’ll try to outline the salient points in bite-size pieces.

Like many standards, the Standard outline is written in complex language. Trying to decipher the meaning may well send you away baffled and confused!

So saddle up and hold on tight, as we go on a wild adventure to decipher the mysteries of ISAE 3000.

ISAE 3000 type 1

The contents page is pretty clear, but delve into the content and it is a lot more complex.

ISAE 3000 certification involves assessment of all aspects of a business’s ethical practices: your processes, quality control, standard operating procedures, data security, a visible paper trail and documented assurance reporting.

A bespoke framework is then created, which becomes your working document, and once assessed and proven, leads to the coveted ISAE 3000 certification, a renowned standard within corporate companies that need to protect their highly confidential data.

So, let’s start with business ethics. The business must comply with the requirements of the code of ethics. The standard covers, security, privacy and fraud.

Next is quality control. This ensures that you do what you say you do. There are some organisations that do the bare bones or less than what is required when you’re looking to do business with them. Keeping promises helps define a company’s integrity.

Other factors that fall under the quality banner include leadership responsibilities, client relationship, engagement, acceptance and continuity, assignment of appropriate engagement teams, engagement performance and monitoring. In a nutshell, this confirms that you are doing what you say you do when selling your services to new customers.

Engagement, acceptance and continuity: These outliers decide if a business that provides services has the necessary credentials to work on certain types of project.

Planning and performing the engagement: Establishing best practice workflows determining how you tackle and handle a project in order to deliver what you promised while working within the ISAE framework. The framework may need to be amended over time and this is a continuous iterative process.

Maintenance

Gaining the standard and maintaining it requires responsibility. It’s not just a piece of paper designed to attract new business. It’s also your own working document and it adds value to your business by ensuring that customer satisfaction and security are at the heart of all your decisions.

The standard is upheld through regular audits. Documentation is analysed to ensure compliance with the ISAE framework with all the aspects of reporting of potential non-compliance issues, root cause analyses and that actions taken with final outcomes are logged and are visible.

Processes must be demonstrated as suitable and work according to the framework.

Thanks to these regular audits, successfully achieving an ISAE 3000 Part I certificate by Soll-IT lets our customers know that we will uphold the integrity and privacy of your data on an ongoing basis. Read about secure translation environment and services.

ALM is also ISO17100 accredited and will be working towards ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO14001 environmental management in 2020/2021.

These standards will reflect the company that we are today and the company we aspire to be in the future.
