Celebrating success in the language sector:  Midlands translation agency ALM Translations

ALM Translations is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the runner-up prize in the Project Management Team of the Year category at the 2016 ATC Industry Summit awards. The award winners were announced at the gala awards dinner, which took place as part of the 40th anniversary ATC conference on 22nd September 2016 at the QEII Conference Centre in London.

The Language Industry Summit Awards are designed to celebrate success in the sector, with nominees being recognised by the judges for their commitment to excellence.

Speaking about ALM’s award, director Rachel Coleman said: “ALM Translations’ seven-strong Project Management team works together to create a fun, harmonious atmosphere, while delivering the best service to our clients.

“With a mix of direct and language service provider clients, each requires a very different project management approach and is handled by dedicated teams to ensure the highest standards.

“It was a great honour to be recognised at the awards for our team’s hard work. At ALM Translations, we feel very passionately about the job that we do and the importance of the language sector in our country, and I am very proud that the commitment of our Project Management team has been recognised at the highest possible level by such a distinguished panel of judges.”

This year’s judging panel comprised Rudy Tirry, President of the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies, Sarah Griffin-Mason, Chair of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting, Laura Brandon, Executive Director of the Globalization and Localization Association and Geoffrey Bowden, General Secretary for the ATC, who was the non-voting chair of the judging panel.

ATC General Secretary Geoffrey Bowden confirmed that all of the nominees were assessed using robust judging criteria to recognise the broad range of talent within the industry. “With a focus on achievement; the judging criteria put an emphasis on the story behind the individuals that give so much to the industry; what they aim to achieve and what their success gives back to the profession. ALM Translations certainly ticked many of the boxes for the judging panel.”

Midlands translation agency, ALM Translations was delighted to receive the runner-up prize in this sought after category. This means a great deal to its Project Management team, summed up here by one of ALM’s Project Managers, Zoe Harris:

“Attending the ATC Awards was a really exciting experience for the ALM Project Management team. I feel very proud that we were shortlisted and feel a great sense of achievement to have made impact enough to have gained second place up against some of the bigger agencies in the industry. We are a small, hardworking team but we have a fantastic team spirit, and it was great to celebrate our success all together in London! I’m looking forward to next year already!”
