or Happy St David’s Day to all our Welsh friends, translators and colleagues.
There are approximately 740,000 native Welsh speakers in the world, but Welsh isn’t only spoken in Wales. It’s also spoken by Y Wladfa, the Welsh colony in Chubut Province in Argentina, as well as in parts of the US and Canada.
Welsh was once a declining language but has experienced a resurgence in popularity since the year 2000, thanks to it becoming a compulsory language in all Welsh schools.
St. David lived in the 6th century, and his simple life without possessions and the miracles he performed are celebrated across Wales on 1st March.
St. David’s quote “Do the little things, the small things you’ve seen me doing.” still resonates with many people today.
