Alina joined ALM Translations in July 2019 as a Project Manager.
Alina’s skills are ideally suited for our direct customer team because of her skills and experience, but her initial training period will be spent learning the ropes in our Agency team, with her then moving to the Direct Customer team in the coming months.
Alina has had a varied and interesting career history to date, having worked as a technical translator in Russia and also a technical author here in the UK.
Before joining ALM, she worked as an events project coordinator which equipped her with the necessary project management skills to work as a translation project manager with us.
These skills include project managing internal translations via a translation management system, providing Scope of Work and briefing documents, dealing with health and safety matters, researching suppliers and materials, and onsite support during events.
At times, Alina was managing several large events simultaneously demonstrating her excellent multitasking skills!
She started managing her own projects pretty much straight away and uses her initiative to find solutions to problems, meaning she’s already self-sufficient.
She is able to quickly gain a thorough overview of projects and the requirements and look out for potential pitfalls.
And…last but not least…Alina is now our resident photographer, having demonstrated her skills in some of the profile pictures on our website (they aren’t hard to pick out if you take a look).
In February 2020, Alina was promoted to Project Lead in a new department here at ALM. This department solely looks after one client and comprises a Project Lead and a Lead linguist, supported by two other in-house staff members working part-time. This project is forecast to grow consistently over the next 2 years and we felt the best way to serve the client would be to create a dedicated team.
